Privacy Policy
Applies to the Convermo iPhone app and this website. Last updated 13 August 2026.
The short version. Convermo has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. The currencies you pick and the amounts you type stay on your iPhone and are never sent anywhere. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
The only personal data processed at all is what Apple and our subscription provider need in order to sell and restore a subscription. That is described in full below.
1. Who is responsible
Convermo is developed and published by an independent developer established in Romania ("we", "us"). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, we are the data controller for the limited processing described in this policy.
You can reach us at any time at support@convermoapp.com, and we will identify ourselves in full to anyone exercising a right under data protection law or to any authority that asks. Our full legal and contact details are also published on the app's App Store listing.
2. What stays on your device
Convermo stores the following on your iPhone only. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we have no way of reading it:
- The currency pair you have selected and the currencies you have used recently.
- The amounts and calculations you type.
- Your theme preference and whether you have completed the introduction.
- The most recent exchange rate table, so the app works offline.
- A count of how many sessions have included a conversion, used only to decide when the app may offer you a subscription or ask for a review.
This data is held in the app's own storage, shared with the Convermo widget on the same device. Deleting the app removes all of it.
3. What we collect
We do not collect any personal information about you. Convermo has no sign-up, no login, no profile and no contact form inside the app. We do not ask for, receive or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or the contents of anything you type.
Convermo requests no device permissions — no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no notifications.
If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, because that is how email works. We use it only to answer you.
4. What leaves your device
Exchange rate updates
To keep rates current, the app requests a published rate table from the Frankfurter service, which distributes the European Central Bank's daily reference rates. The request contains no identifier, no account, and nothing about you or your conversions — it asks only for the current rate table, and the same table is returned to everyone. As with any request to any website, the service receives the network metadata inherent in an internet connection, such as your IP address and the type of device making the request. We receive none of it.
Subscriptions
If you buy Convermo Premium, the purchase is made through Apple. Apple processes the payment; we never see or receive your payment details, card number or billing address.
To know whether your subscription is active — including on a second device or after reinstalling — we use RevenueCat, a subscription management service. When the app starts, RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous identifier generated by the app on your device. It is a random string. It is not linked to your name, your email or your Apple Account, and we cannot use it to identify you.
- Purchase and subscription transaction data from Apple: which product was bought, when it renews, whether a trial is running, and whether it has been cancelled or refunded.
- Basic technical information about the app and device, such as the app version, the iOS version, the device model and the App Store country.
We use this solely to unlock the app for people who have paid for it, to restore purchases, and to see anonymous, aggregated sales totals.
App Store analytics
Apple provides us with aggregated statistics about downloads, sales and crashes through App Store Connect. These are aggregated by Apple and cannot be traced back to an individual. If you have enabled sharing of diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may also send us crash reports; these contain technical diagnostic data, not your personal information.
5. Third parties
These are every third party involved. We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone else, for any purpose.
| Service | Why | What it receives | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution and payment | Your purchase, under your Apple Account. Handled entirely by Apple. | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Knowing whether a subscription is active | An anonymous app identifier, subscription transaction data, app and device version information. | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Frankfurter | Published exchange rates | An anonymous request for the public rate table, and the network metadata any web request carries. | frankfurter.dev |
Each of these providers is bound by its own privacy commitments, and we use them only for the purpose stated above.
6. Tracking and advertising
Convermo contains no advertising, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no attribution or install-tracking SDK, and no analytics SDK. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it will never present you with an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask for.
This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and loads nothing from third-party servers — no fonts, no tag managers, no trackers. Our web host keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
7. Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — processing subscription data so that the app you paid for unlocks and stays unlocked.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the app functioning and secure, and understanding aggregate sales. These interests are limited, and the data involved is not identifying.
8. Retention and deletion
Everything held on your device stays until you delete it. Deleting Convermo from your iPhone erases all of it immediately — your currencies, your history of use and the cached rates. Nothing about your use of the app survives on a server, because nothing was sent to one.
Subscription records held by RevenueCat are retained while the subscription is active and for as long as needed for tax, accounting and refund purposes afterwards. Apple retains purchase records under its own policy.
To request deletion of the anonymous subscription record associated with your purchase, email support@convermoapp.com. Please note that deleting it may prevent an existing subscription from being restored, and that Apple's own record of the transaction is outside our control.
9. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, or with ours — the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), dataprotection.ro.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
To exercise any of these, email support@convermoapp.com. Because the app holds no account, we may need you to provide the App Store receipt for a purchase in order to locate any record at all.
10. International transfers
RevenueCat and Apple operate internationally and may process data in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, those transfers are covered by the safeguards each provider maintains, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Children
Convermo is a general-audience utility. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data through support correspondence, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
All network requests made by the app use encrypted HTTPS connections. Because your conversions never leave your device and we hold no account database, there is no store of personal data for an attacker to take from us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the smallest amount of data is the strongest protection available, and that is the approach Convermo takes.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how your data is handled will also be described in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Convermo after a change means you accept the updated policy.
